We have a large Canadian population in Western Massachusetts and because of ignorance of the regulations in regard to entry into the United States many of them are found to be here illegally and deportation proceed ings follow. We are advising Canadians of their status and urging those who have not complied with the requirements to return to Canada as soon as possible and re-enter in a legal manner. More of our immigration this year has consisted of families of citizens and resident aliens than theretofore and immigration from certain countries will be confined to such families for some time to coine.
