Book Description
Ward has been spending a week at Broadway, "a lovely old fashioned English village," and found Winter's letter awaiting her there. She hopes to see Winter when she is in London. She is sorry to say that she doesn't know anyone at Newstead Abbey or she would have been pleased to introduce him. She suggests sending "Shakespeare's England" and write that he wishes to write about the Abbey. Annotation on the first leaf, in Jefferson Winter's hand, reads: "This stern, hard old lady nominated herself my "Fairy God-Mother!" J.W." With accompanying envelope addressed to Winter at The Bed Horse Hotel, Stratford on Avon.
