Autograph Letter Signed from J.G. Waller, London, to J. Parker Norris

Book Description

Norris' letter gave Waller much pleasure. "It is not every day to hear of any one having 2200 works on Shakespear, and coming from the southern New World makes it still more interesting ... Americans are most assiduous students and lovers of the greatest mastermind of our race." Waller writes that he has been reading Shakespeare's plays for 23 years and critically examining the text. Refers to Mr. Halliwell and a "great discovery" regarding the "historic foundation of the Tempest"; his new notes on Hamlet and his "elaborate paper on the history of the "Seven Ages" of man." Addressed from 65 Bolsover St. W., London.
