This letter is written on the back of a printed letter of remittance signed by Wm. Geo. Oppenheim, Treasurer of the American Authors' Guild. (2) Sent from Oakhurst, Easton, Pennsylvania, dated March 26, 1898; Rolfe jokes about the authenticity of an autograph of "John Phoenix." (3) Sent from 405 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts, dated February 8, 1904; Rolfe philosophizes about death. (4) Sent from 405 Broadway, Cambridge, Massachusetts, dated November 4, 1906; Rolfe is happy to comply with the recipient's request. (5) Dated November 5, 1906, from Cambridge, Massachusetts; Rolfe's "improved" quote from Romeo and Juliet: "What's in a name?/ That which we call a rose/ By any other name could smell as well."
