Occam’s Razor is a philosophy of assessing issues predicated on the principles of plausibility. The philosophy can be summed up with the following statement: Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions is likely the right one. In other words: In the American Southwest, if one hears hoof beats—think horses, not zebras.
