John D. Calvin Bean, son of Richard Bean, was born in the late 1700s or early 1800s in North Carolina. He married Alice Setser in 1825 in Burke County, North Carolina. They had fourteen children. They moved to Hawkins County, Tennessee in the mid 1830s. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Their children included Sarah, Nancy, Matilda, William, Letitia, Neil, Robert, Uriah, Leander and M. Burton. He died in 1837 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Other localities include Virginia, Kentucky, Kansas, Missouri, New Jersey and Texas.

Thomas Jarnagin was born in 1746 in Virginia to John Jarnagin and Mary Bynum, and married Mary Witt in 1767. He died in 1802 in Jefferson Co., Tennessee. Includes Clark, Lea and related families.




Cantwell Greene Families of East Tennessee


Book Description

David Cantwell was born in 1811 in South Carolina to John Cantwell and his third wife Jane Barnett. The family moved to Tennessee around 1816. David married Mary "Polly" Greene around 1834. She was the daughter of William Greene and Rutha Slaton. David and Mary had 10 children. David died around 1864 in Tennessee. Mary died in 1899 in Tennessee. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Missouri, California, Kansas, and elsewhere.
