Book Description

The Little Fox, set in San Francisco, California in 1964, relates the story of a character named Patrick O'Toole who told me stories of his boyhood in Ireland, his youth in the British Army during World War II, and his hard years as a hobo in America while I was a bartender at the Little Fox Theater on Pacific Avenue in the North Beach District. When O'Toole was found dead on Battery Street, authorities presumed he had fallen and struck his head on the pavement. This fictionalized account relates what might have really happened that night, and what might have happened if he had survived.
