The Roger Hudson Guitar Method is a progressive, dynamic guide to the fundamentals of music and the basics of classical and fingerstyle guitar playing. Each lesson offers attractive exercises and new compositions from the author as well as traditional sources. Areas of emphasis are rhythmic training, note reading, key and time signatures, scales, chords, arpeggios, basic right and left hand techniques, position shifting and repertoire. The method includes numerous solos and duets in classical, blues, jazz, folk and world music genres. The Roger Hudson Guitar Method is a product of over ten years of development seasoned by successful practical use with students in both individual and class instruction. Subjective in-depth technical discussion such as - nail shape, rest/free stroke, sitting position, etc. - was intentionally left out in favor of playable musical material. The method is designed to allow flexibility for instructors with varying perspectives and pedagogical styles.
