Abstract: A color atlas for physicians and clinical nutritionists contains photographs of various human nutritional disorders. A total of 288 photographs illustrate and describe the clinical consequences of varied aspects of protein-energy malnutrition (including marasmus and kwashiorkor); the deficiency, toxicity, and dependency of various vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, E, K, niacin, folic acid, biotin) essential fatty acids, and various elements (Fe, I, E, Ca, Zn, Cu, Co); water and electrolyte deficiecy; diet-responsive metabolic disorders (obesity, lipid metabolism disorders, gout, coeliac disease, disorders of carbohydrate and amino acid metabolism); food toxin disorders; and various disorders of uncertain etiology (e.g.: cystic fibrosis, osteoporosis, bladder stones).
