Book Description

Public welfare leaders believe that more constructive social services should be provided to clients of public welfare agencies. The agency worker who is directly responsible for services to the client is a key person in the Nation's effort to strengthen the welfare of individuals and families threatened by dependency. This book is intended to be a resource for those who teach public welfare workers. It presents selected basic concepts and principles of social work, and suggests teaching methods designed to help agency workers advance toward the goal of more competent practice. These teaching materials are geared to the development of personnel who are skilled in helping troubled people, to improve the quality of social services to persons who need them.
