In The Color of Compromise, Jemar Tisby takes readers back to the roots of sustained racism and injustice in the American church. Filled with powerful stories and examples of American Christianity's racial past, Tisby's historical narrative highlights the obvious ways people of faith have actively worked against racial justice, as well as the complicit silence of racial moderates. Identifying the cultural and institutional tables that must be flipped to bring about progress, Tisby provides an in-depth diagnosis for a racially divided American church and suggests ways to foster a more equitable and inclusive environment among God's people. Theological work, whatever else it may be, is always a reflection on social transformations. Not only pastors but also theologians work with the sources of the Christian traditions in one hand and a newspaper in the other. But how are we to understand the relationship between social transformations and the continuously “compromised” development of Christian ideals, as these are measured by doctrinal formulations? And how might a more deeply sociological perspective on this relationship inform theological work? Matthew Ryan Robinson and Evan F. Kuehn approach this question, not by reconstructing a history of ideas, but rather by telling a story about the development of churches and theological institutions. They take the turbulent and dynamic ecclesiological situation of nineteenth-century Germany as a representative case, focusing on the sociological methodological orientation of Friedrich Schleiermacher and Ernst Troeltsch in the context of the rise of theological liberalism, the history of religions, and the German churches’ confrontation with social and political challenges. Robinson and Kuehn then connect this orientation with the sociology of religion of Hans Joas and Niklas Luhmann, arguing for a functional focus in theological research on what doctrines do rather than what the reality behind or in any particular doctrine is.

Will a Christian college build a student's faith or tear it down? Parents and students sacrifice large sums of money for a Christian college education. Why? They are purchasing a guarantee their child's faith in God and the Bible will be guarded and developed. But is the Bible being taught? Will they graduate believing in the inerrancy of Scripture, the Flood of Noah's Day, and a literal six day creation? Apologetics powerhouse Ken Ham and Dr. Greg Hall reveal an eye opening assessment of 200 Christian colleges and universities. In an unprecedented 2010 study by America Research Group, college presidents, religion and science department heads were polled on critical areas of Scripture and core faith questions. Ken Ham is an accomplished author of some of the most popular and effective apologetics research on the market. He is the founder of Answers in Genesis - U.S. and the president of the Creation Museum. I have no doubt that the average church member would be shocked and outraged to discover how many supposedly evangelical colleges and universities have more or less given up their commitment to biblical inerrancy and the authority of Scripture—especially when dealing with the early chapters of Genesis. I’m grateful for this important work by Ken Ham and Greg Hall, documenting the many compromises that have ravaged the Christian academy. Already Compromised is a much needed wake-up call and a summons to arms for faithful, courageous Bible believers. We need to stand up, declare our faith, and defend the truth of Scripture courageously. The stakes are high and the battle may be more fierce than ever, but God will bless those who honor His Word. May He bless us with clear, unwavering voices. — John MacArthur

Although many people suggest that Christianity is declining, research indicates that it continues to be the world's most popular worldview. But even so, the Christian faith includes many controversial beliefs that non-Christians find hard to accept. This book explores 12 issues that might cause someone to dismiss orthodox Christianity—issues such as the existence of suffering, the Bible's teaching on gender and sexuality, the reality of heaven and hell, the authority of the Bible, and more. Showing how the best research from sociology, science, and psychology doesn't disagree with but actually aligns with claims found in the Bible, these chapters help skeptics understand why these issues are signposts, rather than roadblocks, to faith in Christ.

As powerful ideas in our increasingly secular culture shape more of this generation, trusted leaders must share what they know about Jesus in ways that will reach them. But how? Backed by the latest research and first hand experience, this powerful book shows how to share biblical truth with a generation that desperately needs to hear it in a way that draws them in instead of pushing them away. Written by two youth influencers and experts on Generation Z, Sean McDowell, Ph.D., and J. Warner Wallace, So the Next Generation Will Know is an extraordinarily practical and relatable guide for anyone concerned with ensuring the next generation understands and embraces a biblical worldview.

This book was written in an environment of multi-culturalism. To be against one or pro the other might offend the other. A multi-cultural society allows you to feel connected to different cultures, and culturally different points of view. Cultural differences are not of some one’s own making but natural. The importance of Christianity to culture is that, Christianity started social things like schools and hospitals, which are for the alleviation of the plight of society. Christianity involves things like our family lives and our personal hygiene, which are very important for our well-being. Christianity takes us as all equals in the eyes of God the Father, is not selfish but viewing every creation as important. How we view ourselves is how we should view others as important as ourselves. Christianity is unique in that it combines many cultures. It started at the time of Jesus, which means those who came to Christianity, had their own cultures. Some cultures had to abandon what they valued before, such as polygamy, alcohol divorce, abortion and some rituals, which were anti-Christ. Some cultures were made to adopt some Christian cultures, which were not in their cultures before, such as Christmas and Easter holidays. With the fact that they were made to drop some of their traditions and adapt some Christian cultures could be the reason why they would start saying Christianity is killing culture.

I have had the opportunity to travel and have visited churches from Hawaii to Maine, from Fairbanks to Florida, and many in between. I have met many beautiful people, pastors, missionaries, and strong churches changing the culture and community. In some of the churches, a new pattern was noticed. Groups of churches that had different names, different logos, in different locations, but were being unified under new purposes, new directions, and new messages. Traditional Christianity, the faith of our Fathers, was being set aside for this new agenda. Not all churches were willing to compromise, but there were many that were. So the cross was substituted for legacies, the gospel for self-help, and the Almighty for the Almighty Dollar. This direction was warned about in the Bible, from countless stories in the Old Testament, to all of the books in the New Testament, excluding Philemon. But the warnings are being set aside so people can create institutions unto themselves, legacies can be created, and the sheep can be fleeced. Remnants and strongholds of traditional Christianity can still be found in churches all across America. But other churches, oftentimes large and powerful, are rising up alongside these churches to deliver a new Americanized gospel, a 'new me first' message, and create new wealth. They are the Compromised Churches, and they are the greatest threat facing Christianity today.
