Contract Management Body of Knowledge®

Book Description

A must-have reference for contract management professionals, the CMBOK presents what should be learned by contract managers and how they should learn it. The content was developed through a voluntary consensus process governed and administered by NCMA to promote the fair development of consensus. This consensus was established through a job task analysis survey of contract managers and working groups comprised of subject matter experts in contract management. The CMBOK is not solely for the benefit of contract managers; contract managers are not the only ones involved in contract management activities. Numerous stakeholders measure success or failure by contract performance. Knowledge of contract management and competent contract management processes directly impacts the success of contract performance. The seventh edition of the CMBOK is primarily driven by the changes to the Contract Management Standard™ (CMS™). In June 2022, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) reaffirmed the NCMA CMS™ as an American National Standard (ANS). This ANS [ANSI/NCMA ASD 1-2019 (R2022)—see Annex] serves as the CMBOK’s foundational document to expand, refine, and reorganize contract management knowledge. The CMBOK provides further definition of the field of contract management; the framework for the body of knowledge; and the practices, lexicon, and processes of contract management. In addition, it provides procedural steps for contract management processes in general, as well as for specialized areas, including government or commercial contracting.

Handbook of Research on Designing Sustainable Supply Chains to Achieve a Circular Economy

Book Description

Securing a sustainable supply chain is crucial for business and the future of humanity. Intending to lower waste and carbon emissions, businesses are investing more money in sustainability efforts. However, sustainability measures that might save costs, improve forecasting, and optimize business operations are frequently disregarded, especially during the post-pandemic era. The Handbook of Research on Designing Sustainable Supply Chains to Achieve a Circular Economy analyzes various approaches and strategies for developing sustainable supply chain capabilities to achieve circular economies; builds and develops models, frameworks, and theoretical concepts by focusing on the role of a sustainable supply chain leading to a circular economy; and provides a platform where new concepts and plans for managing sustainable supply chains in the post-pandemic era with the aid of Industry 4.0 as enablers are discussed. Covering key topics such as tourism, healthcare, transportation, and governance, this major reference work is ideal for industry professionals, government officials, business owners, managers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, scholars, researchers, academicians, instructors, and students.

Work Breakdown Structures for Projects, Programs, and Enterprises

Book Description

Become an Expert on the Work Breakdown Structure! The basic concept and use of the work breakdown structure (WBS) are fundamental in project management. In Work Breakdown Structures for Projects, Programs, and Enterprises, author Gregory T. Haugan, originator of the widely accepted 100 percent rule, offers an expanded understanding of the WBS concept, illustrating its principles and applications for planning programs as well as its use as an organizing framework at the enterprise level. Through specific examples, this book will help you understand how the WBS aids in the planning and management of all functional areas of project management. With this valuable resource you will be able to: • Tailor WBSs to your organization's unique requirements using provided checklists and principles • Develop and use several types of WBS • Use WBS software to gain a competitive edge • Apply the 100 percent rule when developing a WBS for a project or program • Establish a WBS for a major construction project using included templates • Understand portfolio management and establish an enterprise-standard WBS

Dynamics of Fluid and Structural Interations

Book Description

The book's aim is to integrate the topics of fluid and structural dynamics, a developing field in research and academia. The purpose of this integration is to identify the causes of structural vibration problems which can be experienced on large engineering structures such as buildings, bridges or oil installations, and to prevent them at the design stage. There are currently no books of this type offered to the primary target group, structural engineers. There are textbooks on wind loading, structural dynamics, ocean engineering, presented as separate topics, but very little material in the literature which attempts to integrate fluid-structural dynamics. Integration of accurate description of fluid loading and the structural response can provide important knowledge to structural engineers in their analysis and design of structures. The book will, therefore, be of interest to engineers in all areas who have an interest in fluids, structures and general vibration problems. The book will contribute to the next generation of tools for improving the performance of large structures in coastal areas, in the ocean, and other areas where large structures will be built. It will prepare the new generation of engineers for thorough plans of mitigation strategies in early phases of the analysis and design of structures, thus potentially saving human lives during natural hazard events. · Integrates the study of fluid and structural dynamics · Explains and assesses damping techniques · Many worked examples and solutions
