Book Description

John Crabtree, son of John Crabtree (1760-1831) and Mary, was born in 1794 in Midgeley. Yorkshire, England. He married Mary Scott (1797-1882) and they had eight children. They emigrated in 1825 or 1826 and settled in Newark, Ohio. They moved to Polk City, Iowa in 1848. He died in 1859.

The James Crabtree Family


Book Description

James Crabtree (1762-1834) was born in New London, Bedford County, Virginia to William Crabtree III and Hannah Whitaker. James and his wife, Elizabeth, had about seven children, and moved to Washington County, Illinois. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas and elsewhere. The author is a direct descendant in the seventh generation.




The William Crabtree III Family


Book Description

William Crabtree I (d.1756) married Jane Pendleton, and immigrated about 1705 from England to Deer Creek, Baltimore County, Maryland. William Crabtree II immigrated with his parents, and married Mary Pyke in 1725. William Crabtree III (1726-1777) married Hannah Whitaker in 1746 in Joppa, Baltimore County, Maryland, and moved about 1748 to Bedford County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, Texas, California and elsewhere. The author is a direct descendant in the eighth generation of William Crabtree III. Includes ancestry in England to about 1530.
