Book Description

Adam Miller was born in 1703 in Labensheim, Germany. His parents were Johann Peter Mueller and Maria Margaretha Ulrich. He emigrated in 1724 and settled in Massanutten, Page County, Virginia. He married Anna Barbara Koger (1716-1794), daughter of Josias Koger and Ann Lowen. They had four children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Missouri, Iowa and Louisiana.

This book examines Thornton J. Alexander, who was a station manager and conductor on the Underground Railroad in Ohio and Indiana. The authors examine how his formative years into adulthood was spent in bondage until he was emancipated in 1816, and how he then purchased land in Ohio and Indiana to facilitate his clandestine emancipation work.

Present descendants live in Virginia, California, and elsewhere.
