Liar, Liar

Book Description

Liar, Liar: A Non-Fiction Account of Online Dating Experiences By: Judi Curry Judi is a retired educator that lost her husband in 2009 to lung cancer after 46 years of marriage. Married at seventeen, she had never lived on her own and after the pangs of loss numbed, she decided that she would like to find a full-time companion to spend the rest of her life with. The only problem was where would a 60+ year-old female go to find such companionship? Online dating seemed a viable answer, so she signed up with online dating services to meet that companion. Liar, Liar is a word for word accounting of the men she talked to over a period of four years. The wording of the communications has not been edited, nor changed, for to do so would have changed the communication drastically between them. Although each of the chapters are about the “scammers” she met, she did meet several men that were sincere and their stories are not part of the book because of that sincerity. At this point she is still looking for a companion, but not online.

The Power and Grace Between Nasty Or Nice

Book Description

"In this illuminating book, the Friels explain that power without graciousness results in bullying and nastiness. Graciousness without power results in being a doormat. However, power tempered with graciousness elevates us beyond our purely animalistic selves—it produces competence, gratitude, humility, and effectiveness, attributes that are sorely lacking in today's world where entitlement, narcissism, and incivility reign supreme. By learning how to find and balance this power zone between victim and perpetrator, anyone can stop dysfunctional patterns of behavior and ignite positive change. In fact, the Friels show how even one very small change held firmly for six to twelve months can cause more system-wide change than anything else you can do. Over the past twenty-seven years, their Clearlife® Clinic Program has helped more than 6,000 people identify and change ingrained patterns of behavior, beliefs, and feelings."--Publisher description.

However, he introduces her to his best friend, John, a trauma doctor from the Coast Hospital, and it is love at first sight for them both. Because of the trauma he sees constantly coming from accidents, he has bad times and sometimes is unable to sleep and get through it without the love and care of Amelia, who is always there for him. The biggest cause of the highway accidents is due to inattention to the road and, of course, road rage and booze, he tells her, and many trucks can be the cause where the drivers use uppers and downers to get through their hectic days. After a wonderful family Christmas day with both families, John and Amelia come across an accident where two cars are badly damaged and one upside down, and they get all the family out with the help of another motorist just before the car bursts into flames. The other car has a deceased lady, and her husband is in a bad condition. They then discover a traumatized boy under the front seat. John took control of everything until the paramedics arrived, and the whole highway came to a standstill for hours. Sometime later, John and Amelia marry, buy a mansion overlooking the sea, and have two delightful children, and while Amelia is waiting to go back to work after the birth of her daughter, she starts drawing illustrations for the children's books she has started writing, which become a worldwide phenomenon and changes their lives forever. She decides to help children's charities from some of the enormous profits from her good fortune. This is a story of how trusting each other to be there when needed makes such a difference and relays a message for the drivers to slow down. You are driving a lethal weapon.
