Devils Lake Flood Control Project. Section 205. Detailed Project Report

Book Description

The Corps of Engineers was requested by the Devils Lake Basin Joint Water Management Board to investigate the feasibility of flood control measures at Devils Lake, North Dakota. The board requested the study because the water level has increased 28 feet in the last 40 years. This rising water level threatens to flood a considerable amount of property. The recommended plan requires one main embankment across a narrow neck in Creel Bay plus two relatively, low tieback embankments. This plan (Plan B) is the most economically efficient because it uses the natural topographic features of the area.
