Excerpt from American Game and Fish Laws: Containing a Complete Digest of the Laws in Each State In preparing this work, which is entirely for Sportsmen and Anglers, the author has endeavored to make a brief, but comprehensive digest of the game and fish laws of each State in the United States. The material has been derived from the Revised Statutes, Codes, and the latest enactments of the legislatures of 1897 and 1895, in the respective States. The jurisdiction of courts, duties of officer, prosecutions and penalties, are not contained in this digest, being immaterial to the Sportsman and Angler, nor the law in some of the States pertaining to fish traps, seines, nets, and other contrivances, except hook and line. Trusting that his investigation may prove acceptable and useful, the author presents the result of his labor.
