Scholarly journals are the capillaries of the scientific world, ensuring the circulation of knowledge. Moreover, scholarly journals guide and indicate the scientific development in an academic field of study or in a country. Scholarly journals, which transfer and spread scientific information, are intended to properly fulfill their functions, preventing the transfer of imperfect or incorrect information to the science world. Significant issues are, therefore, inevitable in the characteristics of scientific studies in such disciplines and countries where the scholarly journals do not fulfill their functions properly. This study encompasses all scholarly journals published in Turkey in all fields of science and other disciplines. The reference questions in this study are grouped under three main categories: the contact and publication information, article evaluation, and publishing information. The number of journals in this present study totals 1,910.

Search skills of today bear little resemblance to searches through print publications. Reference service has become much more complex than in the past, and is in a constant state of flux. Learning the skill sets of a worthy reference librarian can be challenging, unending, rewarding, and-- yes, fun.

A History of Brewers in Portsmouth, Ohio, with an Emphasis on the Portsmouth Brewing Company: Part IIthe 20th & 21st Centuries is a continuation of A History of Brewers in Portsmouth, Ohio, with an Emphasis on the Portsmouth Brewing Company: Part One: The 19th Century, also available through Xlibris Publishing. The second book picks up where part one left off, moving on from the demise of brewery patriarch Julius Esselborn to his sonsPaul Esselbornturbulent tenure as general manager of the Portsmouth Brewery, as well as his contributions to Portsmouth as a community leader. From there, the book recounts the many uses of the brewerybottler to car dealership to arcadebrought on by the Prohibition and post-Prohibition era before returning back to its original roots as a craft brewery by two local brothers, Steven and Ira Mault. These two books are a look back into the history of Portsmouth, Ohio, my hometown, from the viewpoint of beer brewing, a major part of this community from its very early days to its present and, hopefully, well into its future. Cheers.
