Earl Platt, an American visiting England in the summer of 1914, finds out that his brother, Leon, has gone missing in France. On his way, he falls overboard, is rescued by a destroyer and encounters German sailors planting mines in the North Sea. Upon his arrival in Paris, he foils the plot of some saboteurs with the help of his friend, Lieutenant Garnold.
