This mandate comes in the form of several key acts. The more noteworthy federal legislation address ing economics and wildlife include: the Multiple - Use and Sustained Yield Act of 1960, The National Environ mental Policy Act of 1969, the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act of 1974, the Sikes Act of 1974, and the National Forest Management Act Of 1976. Big Game Shooting in Alaska (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from Big Game Shooting in Alaska In submitting this small work to the criticisms of brother sportsmen, or others of the reading public into whose hands it may fall, it is the earnest desire of the author that the following facts may be borne in mind during its perusal: Firstly, that it is not the outcome of a wild desire on the part of the writer to rush into print and air his own views on certain matters, or to lay down, after spending only one season in Alaska, any hard and fast rules as to the habits of certain kinds of game, and the best mode of killing them. Such a mistake is only too common on the part of many young sportsmen, and even of others of more mature years in search of small notoriety. Men of far greater experience on the same subjects hesitate to express any opinion, or to place on record in print any of their own ideas, for fear of appearing ridiculous in the eyes of a very few who may know more about these matters than the writers themselves. Hunting in the Wilderness

Book Description

Excerpt from Hunting in the Wilderness: Big Game Hunting North of the Amazon I have always held the opinion that South America has created a gap in the annals of big game hunting in the world. Many excellent works have been produced on the subject in Africa, Asia and North America, but relatively little has been said of the opportunities present to shooters South of the Panama.
