Ethylene Glycol Production from Carbon Dioxide - Cost Analysis - MEG E21A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) production from carbon dioxide (CO2) using an electrochemical process. The process examined is similar to Liquid Light process. In this process, CO2 is electrochemically converted to oxalic acid, which is then hydrogenated to MEG.This report examines one-time costs associated with the construction of a United States-based plant and the continuing costs associated with the daily operation of such a plant. More specifically, it discusses:* Capital Investment, broken down by: - Total fixed capital required, divided in production unit (ISBL); infrastructure (OSBL) and contingency - Alternative perspective on the total fixed capital, divided in direct costs, indirect costs and contingency - Working capital and costs incurred during industrial plant commissioning and start-up* Production cost, broken down by: - Manufacturing variable costs (raw materials, utilities) - Manufacturing fixed costs (maintenance costs, operating charges, plant overhead, local taxes and insurance) - Depreciation and corporate overhead costs* Raw materials consumption, products generation and labor requirements* Process block flow diagram and description of industrial site installations (production unit and infrastructure)This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s):US Patents 20140221684 and 20140206895, both issued to Liquid Light in 2014Keywords: Ethylene Glycol, Fiber Grade, Hydrogen Bromide, Bromine, 1,2-Ethanediol

Polyethylene Furanoate Production from Glucose - Cost Analysis - PEF E21A

Book Description

This report presents a cost analysis of Polyethylene Furanoate (PEF) production starting from glucose and monoethylene glycol (MEG). The process examined is similar to the Avantium YXY process, followed by a process that copolymerizes FDCA and MEG. In this process, a 70 wt% glucose-water syrup feed is isomerized to fructose. Then, fructose is converted to methoxy methyl furan (MMF) intermediate, which is oxidized to FDCA. This process generates methyl acetate and methyl levulinate as by-products. The FDCA generated and MEG are polymerized to PEF in two polymerization steps in order to obtain Bottle-Grade PEF. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) US Patent 8519167, issued to Furanix Technologies B.V. in 2013 (2) US Patent 20160024039, issued to Furanix Technologies B.V. in 2016 (3) WO Patent 2015137807, issued to Furanix Technologies in 2015 Keywords: Polyethylene Furanoate, PEF, Green FDCA, Hydroxyl Methyl Furfural, HMF, Purified Terephthalic Acid, Polyethylene 2,5-Furandicarboxylate, MEG

CO2 Sequestration and Valorization

Laboratory Techniques in Thrombosis - A Manual

Book Description

The first edition of this manual appeared in 1992 and was entitled ECAT Assay Procedures. This completely revised new edition combines the strengths of the first edition with new and useful features. Laboratory Techniques in Thrombosis - a Manual still gives detailed descriptions of the recommended assays and their alternatives. However, the manual now has a broader scope because it is no longer limited by the frontiers of ECAT. Experts all over the world have contributed to this edition. Furthermore, new assays have been introduced, improvements have been suggested for other assays, while a few others have become redundant or no longer available. The list of manufacturers is fully updated and a list of the recommended nomenclature of quantities in thrombosis and haemostasis is new to this edition, further facilitating the use of this manual. Laboratory Techniques in Thrombosis - a Manual will contribute to furthering the much needed harmonization and standardization of tests within the field and should have a place in all working haemostasis laboratories.
