Food and Nutrition Services of Federal and Quasi-Official Agencies of the United States (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from Food and Nutrition Services of Federal and Quasi-Official Agencies of the United States This is the eighth edition of a publication depicting the food and nutrition services performed by Federal and quasi-official agencies within the United States. As for previous editions, the several parts have been prepared by representatives of the respective agencies, usually by the persons most responsible for the food and nutrition work. The first report was issued in March 1937 by an Interdepartmental Committee to Coordinate Health and Welfare Activities that was established by Executive Order 7481. Editions in 1939 and 1940 were issued to meet special needs of these periods. Editions in 1945, 1948, 1952, and 1954 have been prepared under the leadership of the Nutrition Programs Service of the Department of Agriculture to provide up-to-date information regarding organizational responsibilities and functions of the Federal agencies relating to food and nutrition, as these have developed to meet public needs.
