Book Description

Excerpt from Forest Products of Canada, 1914: Pulpwood In the mechanical process, where the fibres are more or less broken and their strength impaired, only the best quality of pulpwood can he used. The machinery, however, 1s comparatively cheap and easily installed, and as long as the supply of good pulpw oed was convenient this process was largely used. Of late years the quantity of wood used in the sulphite process has steadily increased in spite of the high cost of installing the necessary plant.
