This is the same number Of fatalities that occurred in 1930. The coal business as a whole was in a most depressed con dition during the entire year; one Of the largest companies Operated its mines only two days each week. Another large Operating company - in fact, the largest in the State - Oper ated about half time. This, of course, entailed considerable hardship among the miner-s and mine employes.
