Emongest the which, the cbiefesi, and most vsuall hathe bene, the bearinge of Signes, and Tokens, In Shieldcs called Armes, which are none other then Demonstracions of Prowes, ajd valour diueresiy distributed, accordinge to the Quallities, and deseartes of the Parsones, entitled therto. Emongest the which Nomber, '1'homas Weoley of Campden in the county of Gloster gentilrnan, beinge one of the bearers of these Tokins of honor, halhe requiered me the sayde Clarencieulx Kinge of Amies to make search in the Regesters, and Recordes of myne Office for the nuncient Armes of that name, and familly where of he is descended Wheruppon I haue made search accordingly, and fyndinge the sayde Thomas Weoley to be the sonne and heyre of Christopher Weoley, and of Alice his wyfle daughter of William Swetenham of Swetenham in the county of Chester gentilrnan. Which Christopher Weoley was the sonn of Richard Weoley, and of Margaret his wyff'e daughter of Waller Aylworth of Aylworth halle, in the county of Gloster gentilrnan. Which Richard Weoley, was the sonne of Thomas Weoley, and of Alice his wyfle daughter of Compton of Compton of the covnlye of Warwicke gent. Wch Thomas was the sonne of William Weoley, and of Alice his wyfle daughter of William Bony of Campden aforesayde gent. Which William Weoley was the sonne of John Weoley, who was the sonne of Henry Weoley of Canipden, in the county of Gloster gentilman.
