Book Description
This book represents the first fully comprehensive study of the life and works of the great 19th century landscape painter Frederick Marinus Kruseman. The authors examine the painter's work and place it in the context of Dutch paining during the first half of the 19th century. They also look at Kruseman's education, and the influences of and similarities to the works of other contemporary painters. The book illustrates the stylistic development of Kruseman with over 80 glorious colour plates. In addition, all of his works are catalogued in monochrome. The current general interest in 19th century paintings makes this book a particularly valuable source of reference and reading.
