Samuel Gant was born 15 January 1790 in Wiliamstown, New Jersey. His parents were Richard Gant and Abigail. He married Anna Mariah King (1797-1860), daughter of Jesse King, 1 April 1815. They had ten children. Samuel died 17 September 1874. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in New Jersey.
