The Gale Family History


Book Description

George Gale, son of George Gale and Sarah Shipman, was born in 1794 in All Cannings, Wiltshire, England. He married Lucy Carpenter, daughter of Robert Carpenter and Martha Merrett, in 1820. They had eight children. They immigrated to Australia in 1840. He died in 1851 in Nairne, South Australia.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a printed book. The item includes many family genealogies and biographies of family members. Also included is an autobiography of James Gale (1846-1928) as dictated to Mae McGrath in 1919. Gale was born in Australia and came to the United States with members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1853. He lived for a time at San Bernardino, California, and came to Utah where he settled in Beaver. He later moved to Arizona and settle din Snowflake. He relocated to Colonia Diaz, Mexico, and later went to Arizona and Utah.
