The paranormal phenomenon described in these short ghost tales allegedly occurred at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa in Tubac, Arizona at or near the historical Hacienda de Otero, affectionately known to the locals as "The Otero." A family historian researching the Otero Family Spanish Land Grant of 1789 discovered these stories by accident. The Tubac Golf Resort & Spa is situated on the site of the historical Otero Land Grant, the location of Arizona's first recorded title to land.
