Con la edición de esta lectura empresarial sobre el Grupo Inditex, orientado al estudio por parte de alumnos de Grado y Postgrado en la Escuela, ESIC Business & Marketing School, así como a otras personas interesadas en este importante Grupo empresarial. Se pretende que el lector, pueda obtener una visión muy próxima del Grupo y así como de las compañías que lo integran. El Grupo Inditex es un modelo de gestión de éxito, en el cual destaca la marca Zara, la más importante y reconocida a nivel mundial, por encima del resto de los formatos comerciales que lo integran. Aspectos de cómo comenzó todo, su apuesta por ser un referente en el negocio textil tanto nacional como internacionalmente. Se ha recogido información económico-financiera y de gestión de varios años, últimos 5 años, 2007 al 2011, por lo que se puede ver la evolución de los mismos. Es oportuno mencionar que el Grupo Inditex liquida su ejercicio económico y fiscal al igual que lo hacen las empresas norteamericanas y algunas españolas, esto es, el ejercicio anual comprende desde el 1 de febrero al 31 de enero, de cada año. Sin lugar a dudas el Grupo Inditex es uno de los Grupos empresariales más estudiados en el ámbito académico y empresarial por diferentes motivos, como son su posicionamiento nacional e internacional, su grado de aceptación entre sus clientes, así como por ser un creador de moda universal. La logística, distribución, fabricación y diseño de sus prendas son reconocibles en todo el planeta. Finalmente, la gestión de procesos para conseguir reducir a 15 días desde que nace la idea hasta su colocación en el punto de venta, es un aspecto determinante de su modelo de negocio y de su competitividad, en donde la tecnología juega un papel decisivo. Los sistemas de información y de gestión apoyados en las nuevas tecnologías es probablemente uno de los elementos que distingue a este Grupo empresarial. Probablemente uno de los aspectos que definen el posicionamiento empresarial del Grupo es que, tanto su fundador, como los responsables posteriores en este momento D. Pablo Isla entienden que el Grupo debe ser «un productor de bajo coste y tecnológicamente avanzado». Seminar paper from the year 2014 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, grade: 2,0, University of Applied Sciences Essen, language: English, abstract: Inditex is one of the largest fashion companies in the world and owns eight different store formats: ZARA, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, ZARA Home and Uterqüe – with over 6249 stores in 86 markets. This Assignment deals with ZARA, which is the most important and profitable subsidiary of Inditex. One main reason for ZARA ́s success is the company’s right marketing strategy, which is based on defining and analyzing a certain target market. This assignment serves to define and to analyze ZARA ́s market from a global point of view. After a short introduction into the topic the company is presented in chapter 2 in-cluding the facts, figures, goals and objectives of ZARA. Chapter 3 concerns the external and the internal analysis of ZARA -using the theo-retical approaches PEST- and SWOT-Analysis. These analyzing techniques are necessary in order to obtain detailed information about the company, which is a prerequisite for the subsequent definition and analysis of the market presented in chapter 4. Chapter 4 deals with the market and the competitors. The analysis and definition of the market are based on facts and figures concerning the market segmentation, target customers, competitors and ZARA’s strategy. The conclusion is presented in chapter 5, along with a personal, critical statement and the outlook on future studies.
