COWBOY PROMISES

Book Description

** Formerly published in 2014 by Penguin Random House under the title A Cowboy’s Christmas Promise. This book has not been revised from the original. *** USA TODAY® Bestselling author Maggie McGinnis welcomes us back to Montana's Whisper Creek Ranch, where happily-ever-afters can come in very small packages ... Boston veterinarian Hayley Scampini tends the city’s pampered pets but dreams of the rural life of a country vet. She’s single and determined to stay that way, convinced that love isn’t permanent enough to trust. Then a vacation to the Whisper Creek dude ranch introduces her to Daniel McKee, a sexy single dad who runs the kind of veterinary practice she aspires to—and rattles her conviction to keep men at a distance. Managing a thriving practice, coping with the loss of his wife, and fighting a custody battle with his in-laws over his twin daughters, Daniel couldn’t be more overwhelmed. Hayley is a godsend, accompanying him in the field and winning over his girls. It doesn’t take Daniel long to realize he’s falling for this woman, hard and fast. Is he ready, though, to make promises she can believe in? Reviews “Sparks fly for many reasons and not just when Hayley attempts to make lasagna. . . . Ethan Harris’ life is shattered by a series of apparently unconnected events: the murder of his wife, Rachel, a hacking incident at the bank where he works and the theft of his belongings on the underground. When DCI Scott investigates the case, he finds that Harris is not as squeaky clean as he initially thought; he has big debts and a gambling habit. When the investigation determines that Rachel was almost certainly killed by a professional hit-man, the focus turns to Ethan as the possible procurer of the contract.
