In His Manifest Presence

Book Description

What would you do if God appeared to you and asked you to fellowship and worship with Him every night for years to come? How would you react as He made His grand entrance into your bedroom to commence worship and fill it with His Glory? Join author George G. Jhagroo in In His Manifest Presence, his truly amazing biographical account of how he met and embraced the Manifest Presence of the Holy Ghost face to face, every midnight in his bedroom for years. Who was the Wind that blew apart the Red Sea for Moses, Who created the earth in six days, Who stood beside Daniel in the furnace, and Who sat upon the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant now stood in the similitude of a man in his bedroom, leading him in worship to our Father and to Jesus our King. He continues to do so even to this day. George G. Jhagroo has stumbled upon one of the greatest consequences of Calvary. He—who lived behind the veil of the Temple when it was torn in two from top to bottom at the passing of Jesus on the cross—was made accessible to all saints throughout the world and could no longer only be visited once a year on the Day of Atonement but on everyday and at anytime. For centuries, this resource has remained untapped, and God the Third Person of the Trinity, seeking fellowship on the earth has remained alone and lonely. Yet He is on the earth free to talk to, walk with, go shopping with, and fall in love with any believer who would want Him and invite Him in. In In His Manifest Presence, George did just that, and he shares this love story of his glorious experiences of worshiping with and fellowshipping with the Manifest Presence of God in the midst of His glorious power and unfailing love.

The Manifest Presence of God

Book Description

Walter Beuttler was a teacher in the Bible School that I attended. He personally knew and walked with the Lord as few have. I personally witnessed the effect and the outworking of the very unusual personal relationship which he maintained with the Lord. The Lord often visited the classroom, as he taught, to reveal Himself and manifestly move in the lives of the students who sat under his ministry. As a result, my life was both challenged and changed. He often exhorted his students to cultivate a personal, experiential knowledge of the Lord. He used his unique spiritual walk and experiences with the Lord as a means to provoke us to begin seeking the Lord in earnest. Walter Beuttler traveled extensively in overseas ministry, teaching the principles of the "Manifest Presence of the Lord," and "Divine Guidance," until close to the time of his death in 1974. --Wade Taylor This is the intimate story of a man who walked with God as friend.

How to Worship Jesus Christ

Book Description

What does it mean to enter the presence of Jesus? Can people today do this or only biblical characters? In this classic book, Joseph Carroll shows us what it means to truly come into Jesus’ presence. There is so much more to truly worshiping Jesus than church services and personal devotions. True worship requires complete commitment of emotions, intellect, and will—and our reward is great. Carroll directs us into the presence of Christ by drawing on Scripture, especially the book of Revelation, and by giving practical steps of personal worship. The experiences of some of history’s greatest saints also serve as relatable examples of true worship. This deeply practical and personal book will help us know Jesus more intimately on a daily basis. It will help us draw close to Christ, to experience His presence, and to worship Him in ways far better than what most of us imagine to be possible.

Rethinking Hell

Book Description

Most evangelical Christians believe that those people who are not saved before they die will be punished in hell forever. But is this what the Bible truly teaches? Do Christians need to rethink their understanding of hell? In the late twentieth century, a growing number of evangelical theologians, biblical scholars, and philosophers began to reject the traditional doctrine of eternal conscious torment in hell in favor of a minority theological perspective called conditional immortality. This view contends that the unsaved are resurrected to face divine judgment, just as Christians have always believed, but due to the fact that immortality is only given to those who are in Christ, the unsaved do not exist forever in hell. Instead, they face the punishment of the "second death"--an end to their conscious existence. This volume brings together excerpts from a variety of well-respected evangelical thinkers, including John Stott, John Wenham, and E. Earl Ellis, as they articulate the biblical, theological, and philosophical arguments for conditionalism. These readings will give thoughtful Christians strong evidence that there are indeed compelling reasons for rethinking hell.

God Conversations

Book Description

How do I know it's God? is one of the most commonly asked questions of new and mature Christians alike, and the aim of God Conversations is to both equip and inspire the reader and show them that hearing the voice of the Spirit is accessible to everyone who chooses to follow Jesus. Most Christians know that God speaks, yet struggle with how to recognise his voice in their everyday lives. What does God's voice sound like? How do we know if what we're hearing is from God? Stories of God talking to his people abound throughout the Bible, but we usually only get the highlights. We read; "And God said to Joseph; 'Go to Egypt'," and then; "Mary and Joseph left for Egypt." We don't get a blow-by-blow description of how God spoke. We don't receive a detailed explanation of how they knew it was God, and we don't get to see what was going on inside their heads as they acted on what they'd heard. In God Conversations, international speaker and pastor Tania Harris shares insights from her own journey about hearing God's voice. You'll get to eavesdrop on some contemporary conversations with God in the light of his communication with the ancient characters of the Bible. Part memoir, part teaching, this unique and creative collection of stories will help you to recognise God's voice when he speaks and how to respond when you do.

Sheltering Mercy

Book Description

Christianity Today 2023 Book Award Finalist (Bible & Devotional) Sheltering Mercy helps us rediscover the rich treasures of the Psalms--through free-verse prayer renderings of their poems and hymns--as a guide to personal devotion and meditation. The church has always used the Psalms as part of its prayer life, and they have inspired countless other prayers. This book contains 75 prayers drawn from Psalms 1-75, providing lyrical sketches of what authors Ryan Whitaker Smith and Dan Wilt have seen, heard, and felt while sojourning in the Psalms. While each prayer corresponds to a particular psalm and touches on its themes and ideas, it is not a new translation of the Psalms or an attempt to modernize or contextualize their content or language. Rather, the prayers are responses to the Psalms written in harmony with Scripture. These prayers help us quiet our hearts before God and welcome us into a safe place amid the storms of life. This artful, poetic, and classic devotional book features compelling custom illustrations and beautiful hardcover binding, offering a fresh way to reflect on and pray the Psalms.
