Blitzing Fire Casualty Totals in Houston

Book Description

The Awareness Program was designed to do the most good in a compressed time frame with the funds that were available. Information on smoke detector installation and maintenance was presented along with other life safety essentials. Passing a smoke detector ordinance requiring detectors in all private residences would be the most positive step toward home fire safety that a community could make. The ordinance would receive an extreme amount of publicity, some good and some bad. No matter how a citizen felt about the issue, they would become more aware of the necessity of smoke detectors in their homes.
