This book presents a new logical framework to capture the meaning of sentences in conversation. The traditional approach equates meaning with truth-conditions: to know the meaning of a sentence is to know under which circumstances it is true. The reason for this is that linguistic and philosophical investigations are usually carried out in a logical framework that was originally designed to characterize valid argumentation. However, argumentation is neither the sole, nor the primary function of language. One task that language more widely and ordinarily fulfils is to enable the exchange of information between conversational participants. In the framework outlined in this volume, inquisitive semantics, information exchange is seen as a process of raising and resolving issues. Inquisitive semantics provides a new formal notion of meaning, which makes it possible to model various concepts that are crucial for the analysis of linguistic information exchange in a more refined and more principled way than has been possible in previous frameworks. Importantly, it also allows an integrated treatment of statements and questions. The first part of the book presents the framework in detail, while the second demonstrates its benefits in the semantic analysis of questions, coordination, modals, conditionals, and intonation. The book will be of interest to researchers and students from advanced undergraduate level upwards in the fields of semantics, pragmatics, philosophy of language, and logic.

C++17 is a major update to the language and brings many exciting additions and improvements that will change your pre for the better. This book shows you all of the significant changes in the new Standard. I spent hundreds of hours investigating how the new features work to ensure this book is helpful and practical. It will not only save you time but will guide you through lots of nuances of the language and the Standard Library. Among the dozens of C++17's enhancements described in the book, you will learn about the following: Class Template Argument Deduction Structured Bindings Fold Expressions Inline Variables Parallel Algorithms Polymorphic Allocator std::any std::byte std::filesystem std::from_chars std::optional std::string_view std::variant [[nodiscard]] if constexpr If you have experience with C++11/14 and you want to advance to the latest C++ Standard, then pick up the book and start reading. "If you've ever asked 'what's in C++17 and what does it mean for me and my pre?' -- and I hope you have -- then this book is for you." "The professional schools will resume their professional responsibilities just to the degree that they can discover a science of design, a body of intellectually tough, partly formalizable, partly empirical teachable doctrine about the design process. " [H.A. Simon, 1968} Design is aimed at the transformation or translation of a specification or high level description into a description in terms of some real-world primitives. As such it involves the removal of the uncertainty about the way in which a required system can be realized. To optimally support the design of systems, we must look at the design process as a whole and at the strong relationship that exists between a designer, the applied design method, the required design tools and the ways in which designs can be expressed. This book focuses on that relationship. The application field we are concerned with is the design of systems in which the communication between system elements is a major design feature. Examples of such communicating systems are: communication protocols, telephone exchange control systems, process control systems, highly modular systems, embedded software, interactive systems, and VLSI systems. In summary, we are concerned with systems in which concurrency plays a major role (concurrency defines the mutual relationship between the activities in the different parts of a system or within a collection of systems).

Tier I :--Scope of Examination (CBT) No of Questions (150) Maximum Marks(150) Section A: [no. of question 50] Quantitative Ability/ Aptitude, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, General Awareness, English Language (Basic Knowledge), General Science. Section B: [no. of question 100] Specific to trade/ discipline of a postcode. The total duration for Tier I is 12o Mins i.e. 2 HoursThe Tier-II Trade Test will be of qualifying in nature. The trade test will be of ITI level in the related trade to test the practical skills of the candidates. The total duration for the trade test will be of 1 to 2 Hours duration. Selection Process:- Screening Criteria – Tier I exam is for screening. The minimum qualifying marks for Tier I is 40% for UR/OBC candidates and 35% for SC/ST candidates. Candidates will be provisionally shortlisted based on Tier I examination merit in a ratio of 1:10 (No. of vacancy : No. of shortlisted candidates) provided they secure the minimum qualifying marks in examination. However, this ratio may increase depending upon organizational requirements. The last candidate securing equal marks in the bracket will be included. These shortlisted candidates will be called for Tier II examination. Provisional Selection Criteria – The provisional selection will be based on the merit obtained in Tier II examination depending upon the post/category/sub-category of the candidate. The minimum qualifying marks for Tier-II is 40% for UR/OBc and 35% for SC/ST candidates. (Merit based on Tier -I)

Parallel and distributed systems (PADS) have evolved from the early days of computational science and supercomputers to a wide range of novel computing paradigms, each of which is exploited to tackle specific problems or application needs, including distributed systems, parallel computing, and cluster computing, generally called high-performance computing (HPC). Grid, Cloud, and Fog computing patterns are the most important of these PADS paradigms, which share common concepts in practice. Many-core architectures, multi-core cluster-based supercomputers, and Cloud Computing paradigms in this era of exascale computers have tremendously influenced the way computing is applied in science and academia (e.g., scientific computing and large-scale simulations). Implementing Parallel and Distributed Systems presents a PADS infrastructure known as Parvicursor that can facilitate the construction of such scalable and high-performance parallel distributed systems as HPC, Grid, and Cloud Computing. This book covers parallel programming models, techniques, tools, development frameworks, and advanced concepts of parallel computer systems used in the construction of distributed and HPC systems. It specifies a roadmap for developing high-performance client-server applications for distributed environments and supplies step-by-step procedures for constructing a native and object-oriented C++ platform. FEATURES: Hardware and software perspectives on parallelism Parallel programming many-core processors, computer networks and storage systems Parvicursor.NET Framework: a partial, native, and cross-platform C++ implementation of the .NET Framework xThread: a distributed thread programming model by combining thread-level parallelism and distributed memory programming models xDFS: a native cross-platform framework for efficient file transfer Parallel programming for HPC systems and supercomputers using message passing interface (MPI) Focusing on data transmission speed that exploits the computing power of multicore processors and cutting-edge system-on-chip (SoC) architectures, it explains how to implement an energy-efficient infrastructure and examines distributing threads amongst Cloud nodes. Taking a solid approach to design and implementation, this book is a complete reference for designing, implementing, and deploying these very complicated systems.
