During the 6-month period ending September 30, 1999, the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Defense (QIG, DoD), continued to place emphasis on reducing vulnerabilities and improving controls in the principal high risk areas in the Department: Acquisition, Financial Management, Infrastructure and Information Technology Management. In addition, the OIG, DoD, focused on two special emphasis areas: Year 2000 (Y2K) Conversion and Contract Management.
