This book contains articles on innovative biotechnologies for the production and application of biopolymers and their derivatives in various industries. The conference “Intelligent Biotechnologies of Natural and Synthetic Biologically Active Substances: XIII Narochanskie Readings” took place on the base of Belarussian State University (Republic of Belarus, Minsk) and North Caucasus Federal University (Russian Federation, Stavropol) on December 1–3, 2021. Biotechnology of Bioactive Compounds

Bioactive compounds play a central role in high-value product development in the chemical industry. Bioactive compounds have been identified from diverse sources and their therapeutic benefits, nutritional value and protective effects in human and animal healthcare have underpinned their application as pharmaceuticals and functional food ingredients. Natural Bio-active Compounds

Natural bioactive compounds have become an integral part of plant-microbe interactions geared toward adaptation to environmental changes. They regulate symbiosis, induce seed germination, and manifest allelopathic effects, i.e., they inhibit the growth of competing plant species in their vicinity. The tremendous progress in biology over the last half century - from Watson and Crick's elucidation of the structure of DNA to today's astonishing, rapid progress in the field of synthetic biology - has positioned us for significant innovation in chemical production.
