Book Description
Laminated sheets were prepared by reinforcing unsaturated polyester resin PN-1 with 65 to 76 percent unwoven glass fibers embedded in a unidirectional arrangement. The modulus of elasticity of the fibers used was 30 to 5 percent higher than that of usual glass fibers. Ultimate tensile strength of the laminates slowly increases with increasing fiber diameter. The effectiveness of reinforcement expressed as the ratio of laminate strength to the strength of involved glass fibers increases steadily with increasing fiber diameter. (Author).
