Iowa Criminal Code and Digest and Criminal Pleading and Practice, 1879 (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from Iowa Criminal Code and Digest and Criminal Pleading and Practice, 1879 The work, as will be noticed, is divided into two parts: Part First, containing Crimes and Offenses, with forms of Informa tions and Indictments; and Part Second, the Practice and Incidents of Trials; both being arranged alphabetically. Not only the law under the Criminal Code will be found reproduced, but twenty-eight sections of the Civil Code, sixteen sections of the Laws of 187 4, nine sections of the Laws of 1876, and fifty-six sections of the Laws of 1878, all applicable to criminal procedure are included, thus rendering reference to the Code and Session Laws unnecessary; and every criminal case, in Morris (one volume), G. Greene (four volumes), Iowa (forty-six volumes), and opinions filed (not yet in reports). To July 1, 1878. There will, also, be found a chapter, each, on Bastardy, Contempt, Habeas Corpus, and Mayors' Courts, in criminal proceedings. Also, the usual Table of Cases, and in addition a Topical Table of Cases, not found in law books generally. The author hopes that the work will be found to meet the requirements of the profession, or, at least, that it will help to lighten the labors of attorneys in this important branch of the practice, in which it frequently happens a case must be tried on short notice. In such cases its value will be apparent. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
