Jeff, the Roofer, Reflections of a Double Negative Life

Book Description

Writer Jeffrey Poppy writes a stunningly candid book based on his life experiences in Jeff the Roofer: Reflections of a Double Negative Life. Poppy was born into life with drama-as a newborn he had to have a blood transfusion. Growing up with an abusive father, he relived the abuse by self-destruction through his teenage years and into adulthood. Poppy played out his destruction in various ways-a near death gunshot wound, alcoholism, drugs, three failed marriages, six trips to rehab and then homeless. All avenues led to the same place-his own inner demons, until he entered an in-house treatment center. Upon release, Poppy traveled to Amsterdam and met his muse who inspired his creative poetry. Poppy entered a song-writing contest, won second place and traveled back to the United States landing in Nashville, Tennessee. He recorded 42 of his own songs-all inspired by his tenuous and amazing journey that finally released his demons and enabled him to find his own path. Jeff the Roofer: Reflections of a Double Negative Life begins with the song, The Times, that illustrates his quests and questions of life's meaning for him, and the song, Just Another Day takes him on the journey from inner strife to see freedom and triumph over self- destructive and abusive ways. Interwoven with heart wrenching storytelling are 28 compositions that chronicle his unsteady journey to recovery. This beautifully descriptive book is a compelling and inspiring narration of prose and lyrics that expertly encapsulate one man's escape from the cycle of abuse and self-destruction. Jeffrey Poppy is a writer, poet, songwriter, and craftsman. Mr. Poppy is currently writing his second novel and lives with his beloved dog in Durant, Oklahoma. "I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me" (Philippians 14:13). "And my God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart, for those who believe and love him" (Psalm 37:4""5). Whoever you are saint or sinner, whatever you are young or old, black, brown, red, white or yellow, wherever you are at peace or at war, conciliation or confrontation and whenever you are broke or wealthy, insolvent or solvent. "Urduja," a Philippine tribe princess, self-governing, never yielding, and a warrior full of pride warrior. My father named me "Urduja," thinking and believing that my name defines me. My father's great grandmother's last name was Bello. In Spanish, it means "beautiful." And his great-grandfather's last name was De La Cueva. In Spanish, it means "of the cave." They were among the Spaniards who spread Christianity in the Philippines. However, as Urduja, I speak Filipino and English. I hope and pray to translate this book into Spanish language in the future. My desire to share, the Word of God, importance and greatness of God and through Jesus Christ, to win souls lost in this wide, wild world, to give strength for the weak, hope for the hopeless, prosperity for the poor, highlights I Found the Way. This book is inspirational, informative and based on a true story.

The Threat From Within

Book Description

The Threat From Within By: Gilbert Lewis The ISIS high command is angry that the hostage operation has failed. They conclude that their main obstacle is the MI6 operative, Estella “Rose” Mathews. Rose and a combined team of British and French Special Forces successfully rescued the six hostages from England, France, and the United States. After the hostages were successfully rescued, ISIS now plans an attack using their western fighters. Again, these attacks are prevented by western intelligence agencies. ISIS has now moved its attack to the America Homefront. MI6 assigns Rose to the CIA. The CIA, in turn, assigned Rose to work covertly with the American company White Mountain Analytics (WMA). ISIS develops a fool-proof-plan to kill Rose. They have posted a “kill contract” on the darknet to assassinate Rose. The posting of the “kill contract” is answered by Adolf Wolfgang (Wolf) Schneider. Wolf was in the Marines and was given a dishonorable discharge. He blames his being booted from the Marines on a black captain. Wolf grew up in Kentucky with a father who blamed all of his failures on the “blacks.” Wolf grew up in an environment of “White Supremacy” thus, him being booted from the Marines only strengthen his hatred for Negros, slant eyes and beaners. Upon being booted from the Marines, Wolf found his way to KKK camps in Montana and Tennessee. Within two years he was the top dog. The KKK camp sells drugs brought in illegally from Mexico. Wolf quickly spreads the KKK enterprise to gun running and prostitution. Wolf’s expertise is “sniper” kills. His motto is “One Shot, One Kill.” He learned the trade in the Marines. When Wolf answered the post to kill Rose, he already had completed kills on mafia rats, crooked politicians, and police officers who have not honored their contract to the mafia. So far, he finds it easy money. Each kill brings in an average of $100K. Wolf checks on the darknet monthly for easy kills. His contract to kill Rose is $600K. The story unfolds as Rose is tipped off that there is a kill contract on her life. Rose and members of WMA determine that the assassin is a member of a White Nationalist camp in Tennessee. The WMA team discovers that the camp is involved in illicit drugs, opioids, gun-running, and forced prostitution. When the prostitutes are no longer needed, they use them in snuff movies. Rose and her team of experienced special operations personnel and the FBI engage in a long siege. As the siege continues, President Trout in his rallies is bad-mouthing the FBI. The crowd surrounding the White Nationalist camp is turning against Rose and the FBI. They must quickly and carefully attack and turn the general public against the tide of support for these domestic terrorists.
