John William Boggs and Evaline (Rice) Boggs

Book Description

This Report is limited primarily to John Williams Boggs and Evaline (Rice) Boggs and their descendants. The Report is a collection of information on the family members (event dates, photographs, notes, etc.) organized in a Family Book Format. There are, however, genealogy data and photographs included for some of the ancestors and relatives of John William and Evaline Boggs. For a comprehensive Report of ancestors and relatives, additional research is required to confirm and acquire additional family data. As we all know, family data and photographs are not as available for the earlier generation due to the passage of time and the availability of cameras in their time period. Some of the ancestral family data included are from oral history and have not been confirmed by official sources. For example, there is little documented data on James Boggs and Juliann (Humphries), father of Joseph Marion Boggs and grandfather of John Williams Boggs. The father of this James Boggs has not been confirmed to be Jim Boggs. Another researcher has his father as Joseph Boggs. Was John William Boggs mother's Maiden Name spelled House, or Houze, or Houtz, or Howtz, or Houtze? Evaline (Rice) Boggs' name is in question. Is it Evaline, Eviline, Evieline, or Evelyn? I have chosen to use Evaline which is the way it is spelled on some early official documents. And there are others that need to be determined before making the final copy. This Report includes information and photographs of some of the churches and church cemeteries the Boggs families are, or have been, associated with over the years. More work is required in this area.
