Joseph Landry, Jr. (1752-1814), son of Joseph Landry and Marie Josephe Bourg-Godin, immigrated about 1855 with his parents to Oxford, Talbot County, Maryland, and in the mid-1760s moved with his widowed mother and the family to Ascension, Acadie County, Louisiana. In 1775 he married Izabel LeBlanc (d.1777), and in 1779 he married Anne Bujaux (Bujol). Descendants and relatives lived in Louisiana and elsewhere.

Their son, Dominique Martel, Jr., grandson Balthazar Bathelemy Martel and great grandson Balthelemy Balthazar Martel (b. 1782) are the ancestors of all the Louisiana Martel families.
