Book Description
Excerpt from La Salle University Student Handbook, 1997-1998 All full time undergraduate students are eligible for care at the Student Health Center on a walk-in basis during the academic year (september-may). There is always a Qualified college health nurse practitioner available during office hours to provide primary care. Services include assessment and treatment of illness and injuries, physical exams including pelvic exams, allergy injections, referrals to campus or community resources and health education and counseling. A physician is available by appointment in Student Health three times a week. There is no charge for care provided by the college health nurses or physician in the health center. Most medications are also provided free of charge in Student Health. After office hour emergencies of a serious nature are referred to one of two nearby emergency departments at Germantown Hospital or Albert Einstein Medical Center. Security or fire rescue will transport students to these hospitals. Students are financially responsible for emergency room visits.
