Extract: The purposes of this part of Colorado's contribution to the Six-State Ogallala Study are as follows: (1) to describe the socio-economic characteristics of the Colorado part of the High Plains Region; (2) to understand the effects of possible changes in the region's economic base; (3) to understand the potential for additional economic development in the region; and (4) to investigate possibilities for improvements to mitigate identified problems in the region.
