Your Judgment Let's Get Started

Book Description

In 1999, I saw an ad on TV, from a law firm offering to satisfy civil judgment holders' cases. Having some knowledge of the court system, I thought why isn't there a good self-help book out there? My search did not find one, just offers of services from collection agencies and law firms. Audit of the US court system found 79 percent of outstanding civil judgments in 1999 were currently unsatisfied, today that number of outstanding cases is 83 percent. Obviously there is a problem in the system's ability to offer more justice. I completed the book in 2003, I notice I could understand it, but that it still needed to be written for the layman reader, then spent a few more months working on the delivery. I had a New York Law Firm validate the book for sale in all the US states, and they concluded the book is a viable resource in helping navigate through a case holders outstanding civil judgment!

Legal Knowledge and Information Systems

Book Description

The 22nd edition of the JURIX conference was held in Rotterdam on the 17th and 18th December and was hosted by the Erasmus University Rotterdam. While the conference was back to its country of origin, JURIX continues to attract a wide international audience. This year, the conference received submissions from all five continents. This clearly demonstrates the lively and growing interest for the highly interdisciplinary discipline of legal informatics. The selection of papers for this edition of JURIX covers a wide variety of topics in legal informatics, including contributions on established fields such as legal document management, argumentation, case based reasoning, dispute resolution, support for legal drafting and ontologies, to emerging areas such as regulatory compliance, normative multi-agent systems and game theory, as well as application areas, for example, fraud detection, legal tutoring systems and legal decision support systems.
