Lux, 1914 (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from Lux, 1914 We take pleasure in presenting to the public our annual Lux (light), after much labor and perseverance, and hope it will meet with popular approval. Many new improvements have been added to the school. A blacksmith shop has been installed in the Manual Training building. The boys have assisted greatly in its equipment, ceiling the blacksmith shop, making their own cement forges and many of the tools which they use. Some excellent work is also being done in wood work and mechanical drawing. This train ing is very valuable to the boys. Botany has been added to the course this year, a most interesting subject. This study familiarizes the student with the principal features of plant life. We need more school spirit. Wake nip, boys! Don't let the girls get ahead of you in athletics as they have this year. Be faithful and diligent in your training and success will surely come. The editor wishes to thank all who have so willingly assisted her. The staff has worked very diligently and the school has generously contributed to the success of the book. We wish to thank the advertisers who have so cheerfully patronized us making it possible for us to present Lux to the public. The Poly, 1914 (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from The Poly, 1914 In the preparation of this book we have endeavored to make it a souvenir, not altogether for the students of this year, but for those of the past years, and for those that are yet to come. We have been seriously handicapped by being compelled by unusual circumstances, to await the beginning of the work of editing the annual until late in the year, though we make no apology for that. While it has been a laborious task to compile the book, it has indeed been a pleasant one, and it is the earnest hope of the editors that those who read it may have imbued again into their very beings, the spirit of the dear old Poly.
