Book Description
Excerpt from Memoirs of the Colman Family, Vol. 1 of 2: Including Their Correspondence With the Most Distinguished Personages of Their Time I do not feel justified in sending these Memoirs forth to the Public, without the acknowledgment that I have availed myself, in the early part of the Work, very considerably, of the materials furnished me by the Publisher. And, as I could not pretend to write in a better style than George Colman the younger, "The Random Records," from his fertile pen, have been put in requisition to some extent. The remainder has been supplied by diligent research and the personal recollections of thirty-five years. Many thanks are due for the Letters and Anecdotes which have been kindly forwarded by several excellent friends.
