This report presents replies from the Department of Health to the Health Committee's 2002 questionnaire regarding public expenditure on health and personal social services (PSS). The report is subdivided to present expenditure and cost-effectiveness data on the NHS and PSS overall, as well as information covering: public health; NHS resources and activities, such as community health services, capital projects and the operation of the Private Finance Initiative, primary care, waiting lists and times; PSS standard spending assessments, social care for children and community care. Much of the information provided by the Department is in tabular or graphical format.
