This volume seeks to develop a coordinated strategy to meet the social and economic concerns of society. The objectives are to discuss the link between technology trends in the life sciences, the needs of developing countries and the policies of international development agencies; to help donor agencies refine their biotechnology policies; and to coordinate international biotechnology initiatives.
