Excerpt from Minutes of the Forty-Ninth Annual Session of the Alabama Baptist Association: Held With the Steep Creek Baptist Church, Lowndes County, Alabama, on the 9th, 10th and 11th of October, 1868 In April your missionary. Iilhéd'w n'u appomtment at a shool house seven or eight miles. West of the above mentioned station, at 4 oclock P. Preaching at It A. U. At the fbrmer, and at 4 o'clock at the latter on the same day continued this arrangementmuntil August, in that month he held a meeting of eight days at the latter place; ineludin the 2d and 3d Sabbaths of the month, assisted part of the time by lders Fonville and Miles. Se1e11 were baptized during the meeting, and re ceived certificates of baptism 011 the last day of the meeting, a 0mm oil was held composed of members of the Mount Lebanon church, (whose house of worship 1s located three and a half miles distant, ) and those baptised during th: a meeting; Elders mclendon, Miles, and Sampey be' ing present. It was the unanimous opinion that it would tend most to the glory of God to remove the location of Mount Lebanon church, and rebuild near Allen's school-house. The church have since in conference assembled, resolved to remove to the above mentioned place. In visit ing the stations shoved named, your missionary preached most of the time at Hickory Grove, Athens, Dublin, Pine Level, and a few times at Sandy Ridge and Midway. At Dublin there have been some effi1rts made looking to the organization of a church at that plate, on some future day not fai distant.
