MLM: Moms Losing Money

Book Description

Multi-level marketing companies are a scam. Actually, they are worse than a scam. They are tearing down relationships by turning your friends and your family into customers. Ever heard the expression “Never mix business with family”? There is a reason for that. By adding transactions to your relationships it complicates matters (especially when one or more of you end up losing money). I grew up around multi-level marketing companies and always assumed I would become a representative one day. I’m a natural salesperson and leader so it seemed like a great fit. I couldn’t wait to turn 18 so that I could sign up. But somewhere along the way I started to realize that this business model does not work in the favor of the representatives. I did more research and found out that nearly everyone who pursues this business will lose money. I continued to research and that’s when I started this book. I interviewed some former representatives and found common themes of regret, money wasted, and time lost. As I continued to read other people’s stories, I became passionate about spreading the word -- MLMs are a scam! Unfortunately, I do not see these companies going away through government regulation. If anything, the government is protecting these business. It will be up to us as individuals to open our eyes to the scam that they are and stop joining and supporting them.

The Great Beanie Baby Bubble

Book Description

"There has never been a craze like Beanie Babies. The $5 beanbag animals with names like Seaweed the Otter and Gigi the Poodle drove a large swath of America into a greed-fueled frenzy as they chased the rarest Beanie Babies, whose values escalated weekly in the late 1990s. Just as strange as the mass hysteria was the man behind it. Sometimes called the "Steve Jobs of plush" by his employees, he obsessed over every detail of every animal his company ever released. He had no marketing budget and no connections, but he had something more valuable - an intuitive grasp of human psychology that would make him the richest man in the history of toys. The Great Beanie Baby Bubble is a classic American story of people winning and losing vast fortunes chasing what one dealer remembers as "the most spectacular dream ever sold.""--Back cover.

Deliberate Motherhood

Book Description

The outstanding authors of Deliberate Motherhood have let the trials and hardships of motherhood mold them into better people. Whether the change includes learning patience when the two-year-old “paints” your walls with the black permanent marker, or forgiving a teenager who screams “I hate you,” or loving more when that naughty child doesn’t really deserve it, it’s a change that refines us—or as the dictionary describes it, “removes impurities, makes something more effective or become more elegant.” That is powerful! You may think that everything has been said about motherhood, but the delightful thing about Deliberate Motherhood is that every mother/author is one-of-a-kind. They each come from different backgrounds, have different parents, are married (or not) to different people, and certainly have “different” children. Each of the 12 “Powers” provided in this book is a crucial component to help you in your motherhood. And the best part is that you don’t need to do it all at once. You can focus on one “power” a month, and over the course of a year, you’ll see great changes in yourself and in your family. The mark of a great book is that it makes you think . . . and it helps you change . . . which in the case of this book, is an absolute guarantee!
